The investigation into a shooting Friday that sent one victim to a Jackson hospital is continuing.

The Vicksburg Police Department was notified late Friday afternoon by the police at University of Mississippi Medical Center that a male subject had arrived claiming to have been shot “near Walmart” in Vicksburg around 4:30 p.m.

In a statement from Vicksburg officials, a subsequent investigation led investigators to an address on Fog Drive.

While officials confirm two individuals were taken into custody at that address from unrelated outstanding warrants, no one has yet been connected to the shooting.

Capt. Mike Bryant with the Vicksburg Police Department said Tuesday investigators have not been able to connect anyone to the shooting as of yet.

If anyone has information on the incident, they are asked to contact the Vicksburg Police at 601-636-2511 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
