Riverwalk Casino announced Tuesday it would continue to pay team members for an additional two weeks after the casino — along with others in Mississippi — was ordered closed by the Mississippi Gaming Commission.

Mary Beth Wilkes, Senior Director for Marketing, said the casino would maintain “essential personnel” during the ordered shutdown, which includes such department as surveillance and security.

She also said officials would take the time to evaluate any maintenance and additional cleaning that would need to be addressed during ordered shut down.

“We will look for and address any items that we do not necessarily always have the opportunity to take care of when we are operational,” Wilkes said.
