The Vicksburg Warren School District has invited the community to participate in a “Thought Exchange” to answer questions and listen to ideas to help the district better respond to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 virus.

“Things are changing quickly with the coronovirus/COVID-19 pandemic,” the district said in creating its page on Thought Exchange, an online discussion site. “We want to stay connected and hear your questions and ideas on how we move forward during this challenging and uncertain time.”

District spokesperson Christi Kilroy, posed a question to get the discussion started. “What are some important things to consider as we navigate school closures and the impacts of coronavirus/COVID-19?” she asked.

“Together we are better. This crisis is very fluid. ThoughtExchange allows us to listen to all stakeholders and learn about concerns and ideas as we navigate this ever-changing situation,” Vicksburg Warren School District Superintendent Chad Shealy said. “We want to be able to understand and address our community’s concerns and tap into collective ideas as we create solutions to enhance our contingency plan. The health and safety of our students, staff and community remains a top priority.”

The exchange is confidential; only the thoughts and ideas will be shared, not your identity. 

The district asks that those posting be “polite and respectful as you share and rate thoughts.”

The district encouraged the entire community to participate. The results from the exchange, the district said, would be used to “continue adjusting our contingency plan to serve students and the community.”
