Dejuan L. Cage

Funeral services for Dejuan L. Cage are to be held on Saturday, March 21 in the Rose Hill M.B. Church at 1 p.m. with the Rev Troy Smith officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge. There will be a visitation hour held on Friday, March 20 in the funeral home from 6-7 p.m.

The late Dejuan L. Cage departed this life Wednesday, March 11 in the University Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1975, to the late Robert and Clementine Cage. He accepted Christ on March 8, 2020, when he was baptized by Rev. Troy Lee Smith Sr. and became a member of the Shallow M.B. Church of Fayette. He worked for a time as a processor for various law firms.  He also worked for W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home periodically.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Clementine Cage; a brother, Robert Cage Jr.; his grandparents, Charlie and Emma Davenport, Rosie and Gus Cage; aunts Erma Davenport, Clara Ree Little and Mary L. Brown; and uncle, David Oats.

He leaves to mourn his passing his children, Tony, Taya, Terri and Ty’Juan Cage all of Vicksburg, Davon, Mirrakle, Robert and Dejuan Cage of North, and Deriyah Cage of Tallulah, La. 

He also leaves to mourn his twin brother, Demond (Wanda) Cage of Vicksburg; his other brothers, Koury Cage, Ernest (Rachel) Cage, of Vicksburg and Daryal (Sylvia) Peoples of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sisters Bridget Peoples, Audrey Peoples, Jennifer (Walter) Kelly, Rosie Cage and Mable Jennings all of Vicksburg, Beverly (Floyd) Aikerson of Lorman, Robbie Davis of Oxford and Ida Tory of Fort Worth, Texas; his aunts Hattie (Columbus) Williams, Shirley (Lucius) Hinkle; uncles Floyd (Lillian) Davenport of Vicksburg, Nathaniel Davenport of Miami, Fla. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, including J.R. Tyler, Aric Shells, Korey Wilson and Shirray Harris.
