Charles Lowell Caldwell Sr.

Charles Lowell Caldwell Sr. passed away at his home Sunday, March 22, 2020, at the age of 79.

Charles was born in Oakland, Calif., on Nov. 13, 1940, and is the son of Charles Madison Caldwell and Willie Edith Wallace Caldwell. He served in the Air Force for 22 years as a K-9 trainer. He has lived in Vicksburg for the past 15 years.  He was a past patron of the Eastern Star in Cheyenne, Wyo., he was a master of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Cryptomeria in Japan.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Lowell Caldwell Jr.; and his sister Diana Josette Caldwell.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Ferguson Caldwell; daughter, Nancy Houston (John); son, Steve Caldwell (Krystal); grandchildren, Meagan Bruce, Taylor Houston, Sean Houston, Ashley Houston, C. J. Houston, Austin Caldwell, Nicole Caldwell, James Stokes, Eric Thompson, Mikey Thompson, Stormey Bitticks, Courtney Holt and Megan Springer; great-grandchildren, Phoebe Moncrief and Piper Moncrief.  

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Bro. Joe Harris.
