Thomas J. Winston

Graveside services for Thomas J. Winston will be held Friday, April 3 at 2 p.m. in the Oak Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Dellie C. Robinson officiating.
Mr. Winston passed away on Saturday, March 28 at Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was 89.
He had worked as a longshoreman in the Port of New Orleans and was a member of the Oak Chapel M. B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Marie Jenkins Winston.
He is survived by his two sons, Irwin Williams and Tyril Williams, both of New Orleans; and his three daughters, Kimberly Ware and Cindy Herbert both of Houston, Texas and Denise Johnson of Los Angeles; his brother, Charles Winston of Vicksburg; and his four sisters, Harriet Lands of New Orleans, Beatrice Derkins, Dorothy Erves and Thelma Winston all of Vicksburg; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
