Serious questions with a side of laughter in this stressful time

Dear editor,

Just a few questions to ask, because y’all can get the scoop on anything.

First and foremost, have you been shopping lately? Where are the tissue and paper towels? Have people just realized they need to wipe their butts and face (preferably not at the same time)? Or have all the paper plants closed?

These are serious, need to know questions. I can understand the need for tissue, been using it myself for years, but I do not understand the shortage. I find myself looking closer at certain magazines at the checkout counter. Good texture, bad material, yep, just right for the job at hand.

Secondly, cleaning supplies; is it because we are all in “lockdown” and unable to leave our homes that everyone has finally decided, “it’s time to clean the house?” Are we just now realizing we cannot live in a filthy house? Or perhaps, maybe it is some extensive spring cleaning.

Furthermore and finally, canned goods; I guess the secret is out about the ease of popping a top on cans, compared to the work involved in preparing fresh foods.

Okay, enough about the simple stuff. Thanks for keeping us informed about what is going on in the world around us. It truly is an important job you have. Even though the information seems so grim these days, it is invaluable to us all to have that knowledge.

Stay safe, stay in and people, people, people, share the tissue!

P.S. — During these hard times, I’ve noticed, your paper has a pretty good texture, mind slipping a few blank sheets in?

Laughing to keep from crying.
