Courtyard by Marriott in Vicksburg is joining forces with the Marriott International Community Caregiver Program to help frontline healthcare workers.

Friday, Southern Hospitality Services, LLC, the owners of Courtyard by Marriott in Vicksburg, announced the partnership that provides frontline healthcare workers discounted rates. The offer is also available to anyone who has had to relocate to Vicksburg in support of fighting the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

“In an effort to aid the frontline healthcare workers, we have joined with a number of our hotel owners and franchisee partners to launch the Community Caregiver Program,” said Arne Sorenson, president and CEO of Marriott International said. “This initiative, available in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America, provides significantly discounted rates for first responders and healthcare professionals who want to book rooms at hotels in close proximity to the hospitals where they’re working. The rate is available on Marriott.com at nearly 2,500 hotels.”

“I’ve never experienced anything like this in my 35-plus years in the hotel industry,” said Lynn Foley, executive director of sales and marketing for Southern Hospital Services LLC. “Quite frankly, it is scary. For everyone. I’m honored to be associated with a family within Southern Hospitality Services, LLC that continues to work hard to take care of their employees, their guests and their community.”

Other Marriotts in Southern Hospitality Services’ portfolio are participating in the Community Caregiver Program. Some of the Hilton products are participating in the Frontline Medical Professionals Room Donation Program. Other hotels have designed and are publishing a discounted “Pandemic Rate.”
