State reports 181 additional COVID-19 cases, 12 more deaths

Mississippi State Health Department officials announced Saturday the number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in Mississippi grew by 181 since Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,974.

The number of virus-related deaths also grew, moving up 12 from Friday to 152.

In Warren County, the number of confirmed cases increased by one overnight to 18.

In Claiborne County, the number of confirmed cases remained at eight, while the number in Hinds County grew to 325. The number of virus-related deaths in Hinds County now stands at five.

Sharkey County also remained at three, while Issaquena County has yet to report its first case.

In Yazoo County, state officials reported the number of confirmed cases increased to 85 overall with still one virus-related death.
