The Mississippi Department of Public Safety announced Friday that those who have licenses and other ID that have expired since March 14 or are set to expire before June 30, have a little more time to get them renewed.

In their release, the department said that “all valid driver’s licenses, learner’s permits, intermediate licenses, firearm permits, security guard permits, and ID cards set to expire between March 14, 2020, and June 30, 2020, shall instead expire on Aug. 3, 2020.”

Currently, with many of the license offices closed due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, online services have been made available for renewal and duplicate driver’s licenses, ID cards and address changes that can be made from any computer, tablet, or mobile phone at www.dps.ms.gov and www.driverservicebureau.dps.ms.gov.

Driver license stations remain closed to the public except for the nine MHP District Troop Stations across the state until further notice.

But, those stations are only available for a few services, such as sex offender registry transactions and commercial driver license (CDL) transactions.
