Vicksburg Police responded Monday to a report of a theft on Old Cain Ridge Road. When they arrived just before noon, they discovered an abandoned Mazda Protege that was missing its tires, battery and windshield wipers and had damage to the glove compartment.

The officers contacted the owner of the vehicle who reported they had loaned the car to a family member and did not know when the theft of the parts occurred.

In another report, an individual came to the Vicksburg Police Station Monday afternoon after 3 p.m. to report the theft of a firearm that took place on the 100 block of First East Street.
