Two arrested for possession of a stolen firearm

Two Vicksburg men were arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of a stolen firearm after a report of shots fired on Military Avenue.

Eric Lamont Carson, 20, of Vicksburg, was arrested when officers responded to the shots fired call and discovered a .40 caliber Ruger handgun that had been reported stolen to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Carson was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court Tuesday, where his bond was set at $2,500. His case was bound over to the Warren County grand jury.

Erick Weddington, 18, of Vicksburg, was also arrested and charged with possession of a stolen firearm.

Carpenter set Weddington’s bond at $2,500 and also bound his case over to the grand jury.
