Man killed in single car wreck on Gibson Road

A Warren County man was killed Sunday night when the car he was driving struck a tree on Gibson Road near Lee Road.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Derrick Lemond Davis, 39, 5622 Gibson Road, lost control of the 1995 Mercury Cougar he was driving and struck the tree about 11 p.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene by deputy Warren County Coroner Kelda Bailess.

Vicksburg Fire Chief Craig Danczyk said Vicksburg firefighters with the help of Culkin firefighters had to remove the roof of the car to get Davis out of the vehicle.

The wreck remains under investigation.
