No new COVID-19 cases reported in Warren County

For at least one day, no news was good news on the COVID-19 front in Warren County.

No new cases of the virus were reported in Warren County among the Mississippi State Department of Health’s latest statewide totals released Monday. The count remained at 117 confirmed cases in the county, and two deaths.

It is only the second day since April 14 that no new cases have been reported in the county. The other was May 7.

Statewide, 173 new COVID-19 cases were reported Monday to bring the total to 9.674 since the pandemic began in March. Five new deaths were reported as well — one each in Adams, Itawamba, Lauderdale, Leake and Neshoba counties — to bring that total to 435.

In Claiborne County, the number of confirmed cases remained at 41 on Monday, while the number in Sharkey County remained steady at five. No new cases were reported in either county, and neither has had a COVID-19-related death.

Issaquena remains the only county in the state to not yet report a positive case.

Hinds County has the most reported cases in Mississippi, with 675. There were five new cases reported there on Monday.

Nearly 4,000 COVID-19 tests were reported in Mississippi on Sunday, bringing the total to 95,885 according to the MSDH. That number reflects the number of tests performed, and not individuals tests.
