New COVID-19 cases reported in Warren County

Four new cases of the COVID-19 virus were reported Saturday for Warren County, bringing the pandemic total to 148 cases. The county also reported an increase in the number of cases connected to a long-term care facility, which now stands at 35.

In its Saturday report, the Mississippi State Department of Health announced the overall number of cases confirmed during the pandemic increased by 381 overnight and moved past 13,000 overall. In all, the number of total cases reported now stands at 13,005.

The state also reported an additional 20 virus-related deaths, bringing the death toll connected to the virus to 616. Warren County continues to report six virus-related deaths, with four of those deaths attributed to long-term care facilities.

Claiborne County continues to show and increase in overall numbers, as Saturday’s report showed 57 positive cases in the county. Sharkey County remained with just seven cases, while Issaquena County continues to be the lone county in the state to not yet report a positive case.

In Yazoo County, the number of cases confirmed during the pandemic moved past 200 as the county now reports 204 cases.

In Madison Parish, the number of confirmed cases has steadily grown, and as of Saturday, the number of cases reported during the pandemic reached 54.
