A 13-year-old girl was shot in the leg early Monday, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

He said deputies responded to a call about 12:30 a.m. Monday that a girl was at the Merit Health River Region emergency room with a gunshot wound to the leg. The wound was not life-threatening, Pace said.

He said investigators learned there had been a gathering of teenagers and young adults on Grey Creek Drive and the girl was shot during the event. She was taken by a private vehicle to the emergency room.
