Decline in active cases in Warren County continues

The recent trend of declining active COVID-19 cases in Warren County continued Thursday with the latest report released by the Mississippi State Department of Health.

In Thursday’s report, officials announced one new case in Warren County, bringing the total number of cases reported during the pandemic to 159. But, using guidelines from the state, the number of active cases is estimated at 25. A week ago, the active number of cases was estimated at 42.

Overall, Mississippi reported an additional 328 cases statewide, moving the state’s total number reported during the pandemic to 14,372. It also reported 23 new virus-related deaths. So far during the pandemic, the state has reported 693 deaths connected to the virus.

In Yazoo County, the number of cases moved to 227 with four virus-related deaths. Claiborne County is now reporting 69 overall cases with two virus-related deaths.

Sharkey County continues to report seven confirmed cases, while Issaquena County remains the only county in the state to not yet report a positive COVID-19 case.
