Warren County Administrator Loretta Brantly said Warren County lost a “jewel” Friday with the news that longtime County Road Manager Larry Flowers had died.

Flowers, 52, who worked for Warren County for more than 30 years, served numerous administrations as the county’s road manager. He died at his home Friday at around 3 p.m.

“I am still trying to digest that. That’s horrible, horrible news,” Brantley said. “He was such a nice man. He was very nice to everybody. He was a jewel and had been with Warren County a lifetime.”

Warren County Board of Supervisors President Dr. Jeff Holland said Friday afternoon, Flowers’ death is a loss for the entire county.

“Larry was a very hard worker and a fine gentleman. He cared deeply about this county and he cared about serving the people of the county,” Holland said. “Larry’s loss is a loss for all of us, not only because of his work ethic but just because of the person he was. We will miss him very much.”
