The Vicksburg Police Department responded to a shooting Sunday night around 8:22 p.m. at 1007 Stadium Drive. When officers arrived on the scene, a 32-year-old male was lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. After receiving initial treatment at Merit Health River Region, the victim was transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  His current condition is unknown.

Willie Mae Hardges, 33, 1007 Stadium Drive, Vicksburg, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with one count of aggravated assault – domestic violence.  She will appear in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, June 1, 2020.
