Crime reports: Officers respond to multiple calls for shots fired

The Vicksburg Police Department on Monday responded to multiple calls of shots fired.

Just after midnight Monday, officers responded to the area of Moore and Yerger streets in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found no evidence of shots being fired.

At 11:51 a.m., officers responded to Motel 6 in reference to shots fired. When they arrived, officers made contact with the front desk clerk, who reported a housekeeper heard shots. After patrolling the area, officers found no evidence of shots being fired.

The final shots fired call came at 9:10 p.m., when officers responded to the area of 1100 Speed Street. When officers arrived they did not find any evidence of shots being fired.

In a separate report, officers responded to a call at Hampton Inn on Clay Street just before 9:30 p.m. in reference to an auto burglary that had occurred at Beechwood Restaurant.

Officers made contact with the victim, who reported someone broke into his 2014 Ford F-150 and stole a .22 Black Widow Magnum and a .45 Springfield ACP, with a combined estimated value of $700, located in the center console.
