UTICA — A Hermanville man was killed Wednesday evening in an accident involving three vehicles on Mississippi Highway 18 and Lee Davis Road in Hinds County.

According to a release from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, early reports indicate that an eastbound pickup was preparing to make a left turn onto Lee Davis Road just after 5 p.m. when it was struck by an eastbound Volkswagen Passat.

After the Passat struck the pickup, it then crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on into a Toyota Corolla that was traveling westbound.

The driver of the Passat was transported to St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson with unknown injuries. The driver of the Corolla, Charles McDonald, 67, of Hermanville, died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
