A woman shot by her brother during an altercation at her home on Tiffintown Road in mid-May has died from her injuries.

Heather Blakely Hearn, 47, was shot multiple times, including once to her head. Her brother, Brian Keith Greer, 40, had been held by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in the shooting and originally charged with attempted murder. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Sunday the charge could be elevated once the death certificate is received and the case reviewed by the district attorney.

Greer, who fled the scene after the shooting, was captured the next day in Yazoo County. He was charged with not only attempted murder, but also being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. In his initial hearing, Greer was ordered held without bond in the Warren County Jail.

After the shooting, Hearn was transported by ambulance to University of Mississippi Medical Center.
