Graveside funeral services for Shirley Ann Bass-Woods are to be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 11 a.m. in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dellie C Robinson officiating.

Shirley Ann Bass-Woods passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at University of Mississippi Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 74.

She accepted Christ at an early age and spent her life as a homemaker after retired from Velchoff’s Restaurant.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Mae Bass; her sister, Ellen Ruth Jackson; her brother, Charles Buckler; mother-in-law, Sidney Mae Woods Branch; her father-in-law, Melvin Branch; three aunts, Lillie Bee Haney, Louella Rueben, and Rosie Lee Jordan; three uncles Willie “Buddyshine” Bass, Louis Bass and Elvie Bass; a cousin, Altha Duncan; and niece, Jo Ann Jackson.

She is survived by her soulmate and devoted husband of over 30 years, Stanley O. Woods of Vicksburg; her daughter, Tasha Bass of Vicksburg; her son, Sean Bass of Vicksburg; a granddaughter, Angelica Grissom; great-great-grandchildren, Nevaeh London and Aiden Grissom; great-niece, Lalisa Jackson Howard; great-nephew, Derrick Jackson all of Vicksburg; three brothers-in-law, Charles (Beatrice) Woods of Bloomington, Ill., Williams Branch and Joseph Branch both of Vicksburg; four sisters-in-law, Delores Hubbard and Cherylene Woods both of Austin, Texas, Vicky (David) Humphrey and Lila Branch of Vicksburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
