Tallulah woman pleads guilty to embezzling from Vicksburg law firm

A Tallulah, La., woman has pleaded guilty to embezzlement in the theft of money from a Vicksburg law firm.

Ninth Circuit District Attorney Ricky Smith said Circuit Judge Toni Walker Terrett set sentencing for Haley Munn O’Briant, 31, 128 Hunter Drive, Tallulah, for July 31.

O’Briant was indicted by the February grand jury on a single count indictment of embezzlement in the theft of about $43,662 from the law firm of Varner, Parker, & Sessums, 1110 Jackson St.

She was arrested Oct. 9 by the Vicksburg Police Department and later released on a $150,000 bond.
