Aaron Kenneth Halford Sr.

Aaron Kenneth Halford Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Vicksburg on July 8, 2020.

Kenneth was born in New Orleans on July 18, 1934, to Aaron David and Ruby (Temple) Halford.

He lived most of his life in Vicksburg where he attended Carr Central High School, and he continued his education at Mississippi College, where he played football and graduated with a business degree. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia ‘Patsy’ Hunt, in 1952, and they raised their two sons, Ken and Mike, in Vicksburg.

Kenneth was a servant to his community as a member of the Kiwanis Club, past president of the Vicksburg Jaycees, member of the Vicksburg School Board, and treasurer of Good Shepherd Community Center.

As an active member of First Presbyterian Church for 65 years, he served as a Deacon and Elder, and he enjoyed being a part of his faith and practice Sunday School class. Kenneth remained an active CPA in The Halford Firm until his death.

Kenneth was a gentle, humble man who was often seen walking his beloved dog, Mitzi. He made his family smile and laugh, and he will always be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his faith, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 62 years, Patsy.

He is survived by his sons, Ken Halford Jr. (Donna), and Mike Halford (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Erin, Amy, Haley, Elise, and Hunt; and great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Stone.

A private service will be officiated by Rev. Tim Brown on Monday, July 13, 2020.

Pallbearers will be Hunt Halford, Blane Sellers, Matthew Rutherford, Philip Sanders, Mike Keen and Fred Peyton.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Cronia, Marvin Miller, Bob Cunny, Tommy Miller, Mille Wolfe, Betsy Gage and Dr. Lee Giffin.
