Flaggs among national leaders at COVID-19 roundtable discussion

Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. is among leaders meeting in Jackson this morning at the Governor’s Mansion as part of a roundtable discussion on COVID-19 and response to the spread of the virus.

Among those in the discussion are Gov. Tate Reeves, State Medical Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs and Dr. Deborah Birx, Coronavirus Response Coordinator for the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

Flaggs is scheduled to host a press conference Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. to unveil changes to the city’s COVID-19 civil emergency order and announce a citywide facemask mandate for businesses and public buildings that will begin Saturday.
