Crime reports: Police respond to multiple auto burglaries Monday

The Vicksburg Police Department Monday responded to three auto burglary calls that began with the first just after 4 a.m..

At 4:07 a.m., officers responded to a report of an auto burglary that occurred in the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle.

The victim reported someone entered his Kia Sorrento and stole $250 and a Ruger .22. pistol. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

Next, at 8:16 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle for an auto burglary.

The victim reported someone entered a 2016 Hyundai and stole $5,000 cash and a 9mm pistol from the glove box.  The vehicle had been left unlocked.

The final auto burglary call came at 5:31 p.m., when officers responded to an address in the 1300 block of Chambers Street. 

There, the victim reported someone stole a men’s silver quartz watch valued at $1,500 and $150.00 in gift cards from her vehicles. Both vehicles had been left unlocked.

In other reports:

• On Monday, at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to an apartment at Oakmont Manor Apartments, 225 Cain Ridge Road, in reference to the theft of a firearm. The resident reported he had some acquaintances visit earlier in the week and after they left, he noticed his .45 caliber Springfield handgun was missing.
