Legislature returns to Jackson Monday

The Mississippi Legislature goes back in session in Jackson at 1 p.m. Monday.

A notice of the call was published Saturday by Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann and Speaker of the House Philip Gunn on the Legislature’s website.

Members of the county’s legislative delegation said they have not heard what matters will be addressed but said the education budget and the budget for the Department of Marine Resources are expected to be in the call.

Gov. Tate Reeves partially vetoed the education department’s budget bill and a bill appropriating federal coronavirus relief funds to hospitals.
