Shooting in busy Vicksburg intersection leaves two injured

The Vicksburg Police Department is continuing to investigate an incident Monday night that left one person shot and another injured by shattered glass.

At 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Halls Ferry Road and Pemberton Square Boulevard for a call of shots fired.

Witnesses on the scene reported they observed the passenger of a vehicle fire several shots as the vehicle made its way through the intersection.

A 19-year-old male was taken to Merit Health River Region with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.  He was later transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. 

A second victim, suffering from cuts to her arms from a shattered window, was treated and released at a hospital in Louisiana.
