Mississippi’s health officer, Dr. Dobbs, to be featured during chamber’s online luncheon

Published 8:59 pm Sunday, August 23, 2020

For many, the first they saw of Dr. Thomas Dobbs, the state’s health officer, was during a press conference in early March.

It was the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Mississippi and the biggest challenge Dobbs, an epidemiologist and infection disease physician, had faced.

Since that first press conference, Dobbs has been at Gov. Tate Reeves’ side during almost daily press conferences, giving updates on the state’s response to slow the virus.
