Bonny Backstrom Bruce passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 96 years old.

Bonny was preceded in death by her husband, William F. “Sonny” Bruce and her son, David.

Bonny is survived by her daughter, Barbara Applebaum; her grandson, Chad Applebaum and his wife; and Bonny’s two great-grandchildren. 

Due to the current pandemic, a memorial service will be held at Crawford Street United Methodist Church at later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bonny’s name may be made to your favorite charity or to Hinds Community College Foundation in the William F. “Sonny” Bruce Memorial Scholarship, P.O. Box 1100, Raymond, MS  39154-1100.
