Vicksburg High and Warren Central played Hazlehurst and Holmes County Central, respectively, in a pair of preseason scrimmage games Friday at Warren Central’s Viking Stadium.
Each game featured the varsity squads playing two quarters to help prepare for next week’s season openers. Warren Central and Holmes’ junior varsity teams also played two quarters.
Hazlehurst beat Vicksburg 8-6, and Holmes County Central beat Warren Central 13-8.
Vicksburg will return to Viking Stadium next Friday at 7 p.m. to take on Warren Central in their annual rivalry game. It will also be the 2020 Red Carpet Bowl.
Tickets will be limited to two per each senior football player, band member, cheerleader and dance team member in accordance with Mississippi’s COVID-19 guidelines.
