In its reporting to the Mississippi State Department of Health Monday, the Vicksburg Warren School District announced one student tested positive for COVID-19. This marks the first confirmed positive case for a student this school year.

The student reportedly attends the Academy of Innovation. Also in its report Monday, the district said one additional student at AOI had been quarantined due to potential exposure.

This is the second week the district — along with other districts within the state — has been required to file updated COVID-19 numbers with the state.
