Crime reports: Stolen car recovered, but gun still missing

A car that was stolen from a home on Sky Vale Drive Wednesday morning was recovered, but an item in the vehicle remains missing.

According to a release from the Vicksburg Police Department, officers responded to a home on the 100 block of Sky Vale Drive at 9:17 a.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. The victim reported someone stole his 2011 Ford Fusion.

The vehicle was later recovered on Elizabeth Circle, but a Glock 9mm handgun was still missing.

The keys, which were not recovered, had been left in the vehicle.

 

In other reports:

• On Wednesday, at 7:57 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Oak Street in reference to a possible burglary. The officers contacted a family member of the resident who stated that nothing appeared to be missing.

• On Wednesday, at 8:34 a.m., officers contacted a complainant in the lobby of the police station. The complainant reported a male subject had broken into her Toyota Camry and stole three pairs of shoes and $160 at an address on Kings Drive.

• On Wednesday, at 10:58 p.m., officers responded to Ameristar Casino Hotel, 4155 Washington St., in reference to a theft. The victim reported someone went into his safe and stole $2,000, several bank cards, credit cards, a carton of cigarettes and a Samsung AO1 cell phone valued at $90.

• On Wednesday, at 8:53 p.m., officers responded to Los Parrilleros Restaurant, 2310 Iowa Boulevard in reference to a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported an unknown male asked to ride his 2020 Honda Grom motorcycle, and the male left in an unknown direction. The motorcycle was later recovered behind a house on Park Street.
