Multiple handguns stolen from unlocked vehicles

The Vicksburg Police Department responded to multiple auto burglaries Tuesday that shared troubling similarities.

At 10:31 a.m., an individual arrived at the Vicksburg Police Department on Veto Street to file a report that someone had taken a 9mm SCCY handgun from a 2014 Dodge Avenger.

Hours later, at 4:25 p.m., another individual arrived at the Police Department to file a similar report. In this case, the victim reported someone stole a 9mm Diamondback handful from a 2008 GMC Yukon.

In both cases, the addresses of where the thefts originally occurred were not released. Also, in both cases, the guns were stolen from vehicles that were both unlocked at the time of the theft.
