L.C. Jenkins

Funeral services for L.C. Jenkins are to be heldĀ  Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, in the Chapel of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Earl Cosey officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, from 6 to 7 p.m. with social guidelines strictly observed and facial coverings worn while inside the building.

L.C. Jenkins passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, in his home following a lengthy illness. He was 73. He was a retired cook for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and had attended Belmont M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Dorothy Willis Jenkins; his three brothers, Andrew Lee Jenkins, Mack Arthur Jenkins and James E Jenkins; his two sisters, Indiana Jenkins, Viola Dixon, Rosie L. Jenkins and Dorothy Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife Marhsa Jenkins of Vicksburg, his three sons, Corey Jenkins of Vicksburg, Lee Charles Jenkins and Cordell Jenkins both of Houston, Texas; his four daughters, Bianca Jenkins, Shanell Jenkins both of Vicksburg, LaShonda Townsend of Jacksonville, Fla. and Kathy Smothers of Atlanta; his four sisters, Linda (Aaron) Smith Eliza (Joseph) McRunnels, Josephine Robertson, all of Vicksburg, Cora Thurston of Chicago, and Betty (Walter) Burks of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
