One COVID-19 case reported at Vicksburg High, dozens quarantined

After weeks of no cases of COVID-19 reported within the Vicksburg Warren School District, officials Monday reported a positive case involving a student and dozens quarantined.

In its report to state health officials, the district announced one student at Vicksburg High School tested positive last week, with four personnel and 25 students at the school quarantined.

Also, one teacher at Beechwood Elementary School has been quarantined due to possible exposure.

Monday’s report is the first time since Aug. 31 the district has reported a positive case. In that report, one student at the Academy of Innovation tested positive.

Overall, a total of two students and three school personnel in the district have tested positive since schools reopened Aug. 17.
