Scheduled maintenance work along water lines along North Washington Street will cut off water to residents and businesses in parts of Vicksburg for an estimated six hours beginning Wednesday night.

According to the city’s water department, beginning at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, areas along Washington Street, north of Rusty’s Riverfront Grill on Washington Street and Main Street, including all of North Washington Street, all subdivisions and neighborhoods off of North Washington Street and businesses and industries along Haining Road will be affected.

When water service is restored, city officials said a boil water advisory will be in effect.
