District reports more positive COVID-19 cases involving students and personnel

A week after a COVID-19 case involving a student at Vicksburg High School was confirmed and dozens other quarantined, the Vicksburg Warren School District announced Monday more positive cases at three other schools, with more students and personnel forced to quarantine due to possible exposure.

In its report filed Monday with the Mississippi State Department of Health, the District announced one case involving a student at River City Early College, one case involving a teacher/staff at Redwood Elementary School and one case involving a teacher/staff at South Park Elementary School.

The report was for any positive cases and individuals quarantined during the week of Sept. 28 through Oct. 2.

The report also showed 25 students at RCEC, 27 students at South Park, four students at Redwood, two students at Vicksburg High and one student at Vicksburg Junior High were also quarantined due to possible exposure. Three teacher/staff at South Park and three teacher/staff at Vicksburg High were also quarantined.
