Glenda Lofton James

Glenda Lofton James died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, at Merit Health-River Region Medical Center. She was 75.

Born in Drew, Mrs. James had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1963. She was a member of Triumph Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris Lofton; her twin sister, Linda Arendale; another sister, Judy McGrew; and a brother, Terry Lofton.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charlie James; four daughters, Charlotte Jackson (Terry), Patty Fields (Kenny), Carla Kinstley (Louis) and Brenda Bryant (Charles); two sisters, Anita King and Myra Launius; two brothers, Timmy Lofton (Barbara) and Tony Lofton (Angela); 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Fisher Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Ave. in Vicksburg. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chandler Jackson, Brandon Kinstley, Adam Boutot, Derrick Fields, Johnny Wells and Harold Pickett. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Clampit, Justin Bryant, Evan Campbell, Westley Campbell, Charlton Jackson and Chris Jackson.

Memorials may be made to Triumph Church, 136 Honeysuckle Lane, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
