With election day just over two weeks away, local election officials are reminding area voters of some of the safety measures in place for this general election.

Warren County Election Commission Chairwoman Sara Dionne said the commission — with the support of local and state leaders — have compiled plenty of equipment and materials to ensure those voting and those working at the polls on Nov. 3 can do so safely.

In addition, the commission is reminding voters to do the following:

• Research the ballot measures and candidates before entering the polling place
• Be patient
• Use hand sanitizer offered to you
• If you do not have a mask, use the mask offered to you
• Have your photo ID ready at the door
• Use your own blue or black pen, or use one of the pens offered
• Use the cotton swab offered to you to touch the voting machine screen
• Keep the 6-foot social distance
• Follow the poll manager’s instructions
• Vote your choice and leave the building when you finish voting

“These precautions are put in place to protect the voters and our poll managers,” Dionne said. “We want everyone to vote and we want everyone to be as safe as possible.”
