Roy Leach

Roy Leach passed away Oct. 16, 2020, from Covid-19. He was 78.

Roy was born in Newton County, Mississippi, but grew up in Brandon. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in civil engineering and went to work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg. After 30 years at WES he retired to pursue his life-long love of hunting, playing poker, and, of course, his family. He was Pappaw to 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Winnie Leach of Brandon.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jamie Leach of Vicksburg; sons, David (Carrie) Leach of Clinton and Colin (Jill) Leach of Madison; daughter, Rebecca (Wynndel) Stanton of Brandon; sister, Meridith Grisaffe; and grandchildren, Addison Leach, Landry Leach, J.W. Leach, Will Jackson, Colby Jackson, Michael Leach, Elizabeth Leach, Timmy Leach, Andrew Leach, Ashley DeDeaux, Ryan DeDeaux and Emma Stanton.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hermanville Cemetery, in care of Janet Salley, 1178 Abby Road, Hermanville, MS 39086.
