Vicksburg Warren School District reports new COVID-19 cases at five schools

The Vicksburg Warren School District Monday reported seven positive COVID-19 cases involving teachers and students for the week ending Oct. 16.

Overall, there were three District personnel and six students who reported positive cases. Also in Monday’s report, which was filed with the Mississippi State Department of Health, the District announced 64 students and personnel had been quarantined for possible exposure.

Schools and school districts are required to report weekly to the state each Monday any positive cases and quarantined totals from the previous week.

Beechwood Elementary last week reported two school personnel and one student had tested positive, while five additional students had been quarantined.

Bovina Elementary reported one student had tested positive, marking the school’s first positive case of the school year.

At Dana Road Elementary, the District reported one positive case involving a student and one case involving school personnel. In addition to the positive cases, 12 students were quarantined.

Warren Central High School reported one positive case involving a student, with 20 additional students quarantined.

Warren Central Junior High reported two students had tested positive, while seven of the school’s personnel and 10 students had quarantined.

Academy of Innovation reported 10 students had quarantined.
