VPD to participate in drug take-back program

Vicksburg police will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back day Saturday.

Officers will be in the Walgreens parking lot at 3341 Halls Ferry Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept expired and unused medications, which will be disposed of safely and in an environmentally safe way.

Officers will accept narcotics, over the counter drugs, prescription medications and vitamins.

They will not accept syringes, inhalers, liquid medication and ointments or lotions.
