District reports positive cases involving students and school personnel

The Vicksburg Warren School District Monday released details on positive COVID-19 cases involving students and personnel, as well as the number of students and personnel quarantined due to possible exposure.

For the week ending Oct. 23, the District reported one positive case involving a student and four cases involving school personnel. It also reported a total of 19 students and three district personnel were quarantined.

At the Academy of Innovation, officials confirmed one positive case involving a student and five other students quarantined.

Bowmar Avenue Elementary School reported two positive cases involving school personnel with one teacher and 13 students quarantined.

At River City Early College, one student was quarantined.

Officials reported one positive case involving school personnel at Warren Central Intermediate with another member of the staff quarantined.

Also, one member of the central office staff was quarantined.

The district, along with all of the other schools and school districts in the state, is required to provide COVID-19 results to the Mississippi State Department of Health each Monday.

Porter’s Chapel Academy reported once again no confirmed cases involving students or teachers, nor did the school report anyone quarantined for possible exposure.

Officials at Vicksburg Catholic School also confirmed no cases involving students or teachers. Also, the school said no children or teachers were quarantined.
