From the Gulf Coast to Jackson, Warren County’s high school basketball teams are getting back into action this week at a slew of holiday tournaments.

Vicksburg High’s boys’ and girls’ team are in Gulf Breeze, Florida, to play in the Innisfree Hotels Pensacola Beach Basketball Event beginning Monday. The tournament features 28 teams from nearly a dozen states. The Gators — who will face teams from Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia — are back in it after reaching the championship game in 2019.

The Missy Gators played their opener Monday morning and won 50-43 over Woodmont, a team from Greenville, South Carolina. Janiah Caples scored 21 points and Layla Carter had 16 for Vicksburg.
