Vicksburg pickleball players win big at Mississippi Senior Olympics

Vicksburg residents Greg Head and Glenn Rhett won the gold medal in men’s doubles pickleball, Division II age group 65-69, at the Mississippi Senior Olympics. Rhett also teamed with his wife Gail Rhett to win the Division III age 65-69 mixed doubles gold medal. (Submitted to The Vicksburg Post)

Vicksburg resident Teres Saunier and playing partner Paula Mace won the gold medal in women’s doubles pickleball, Division II age group 50-54, at the Mississippi Senior Olympics. Saunier also teamed with Todd Hatch to win bronze in the Division II age 55-59 mixed doubles tournament. (Submitted to The Vicksburg Post)
The 2022 Mississippi Senior Olympics Pickleball event was held March 19-20 in Biloxi, for players age 50 and over. More than 200 residents from throughout Mississippi and several southern states participated in two full days of competition, including several from Vicksburg who brought home medals.
Vicksburg residents Greg Head, Glenn Rhett, Nellie Hopkins, Dinah Lazor, Cathy Head and Teres Saunier all won gold medals in different age groups and skill levels.
