A weekly recap of performances by college football players from Vicksburg-area high schools:
• South Alabama linebacker Julien Demby (Warren Central) had one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery in an 87-10 win over Northwestern State.
• South Alabama offensive lineman Reed Buys (Warren Central) started at right guard and helped the Jaguars amass 620 yards of offense in the 87-10 win vs. Northwestern State. South Alabama set a Sun Belt Conference record for points in a game, and had the highest total by any FBS team since 1991.
• Nicholls defensive back Laurence Sullivan Jr. (Vicksburg High) assisted on one tackle in a 34-7 loss to Sacramento State.
• West Alabama defensive back Lamar Gray (Warren Central) had seven total tackles and two pass breakups in a 33-14 victory against Limestone.
• Southern University kicker Joshua Griffin (Warren Central) made a 29-yard field goal, and had one touchback on four kickoffs in a 33-15 loss to Jackson State.
• Southern Miss defensive back Jordan Johnson (South Delta) had five total tackles in a 49-23 loss to South Florida.
• Georgia State defensive back Jeremiah Johnson (South Delta) had four total tackles and two pass breakups in a 36-32 upset victory against Vanderbilt.
• Bluefield University offensive lineman Jehari Riley (Vicksburg High) started at tackle in a 44-20 loss to Lindsey Wilson.
• Alabama State kicker/punter Brandon Gilliam (Warren Central) made his only PAT attempt, and averaged 35.1 yards on 10 punts in a 12-7 loss to Samford. Gilliam also kicked off twice and missed a 49-yard field goal attempt.
• Mississippi Gulf Coast running back Trey Hall (Warren Central) carried the ball 18 times for 141 yards, and scored a 67-yard touchdown in a 27-20 victory against Jones College. Hall also caught two passes for six yards.
• Gulf Coast wide receiver Tyler Henderson (Vicksburg High) caught four passes for 37 yards in the win against Jones.
• Hinds Community College defensive back Kearris Gilliam (Vicksburg High) had three solo tackles and one pass breakup in a 48-0 loss to Copiah-Lincoln.
• Hinds Community College defensive back Koury Vample (Vicksburg High) assisted on one tackle in the loss to Co-Lin.
• Hinds Community College offensive lineman Jerald Woods (Warren Central) started against Co-Lin.
• Co-Lin linebacker Rakeem Davis (Port Gibson) assisted on four tackles in the 48-0 victory over Hinds.
• Coahoma Community College linebacker Logan Myles (Warren Central) assisted on one tackle in a 42-23 loss to Holmes.
• East Mississippi Community College offensive lineman Shar’Dez Taylor (Vicksburg High) started at tackle in a 33-14 loss to Northwest Mississippi. Northwest quarterback Jack Wright (Warren Central) played on special teams
