Daniel Marble

Daniel Marble passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, at his home in Monroe, La. Daniel was born Feb. 13, 1939, in Glen Cove, N.Y. Dan lived 80 years in Vicksburg, but recently moved to Monroe. His love of Ole Miss and the Philadelphia Phillies was well known by all of his family and friends. He was 85 years old at the time of his passing.

Dan attended school at Culkin in Vicksburg. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. His family were members of St. Alban Episcopal Church and, later in life, he was an active member of Triumph Church.

Dan retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and he was a switchman. After retirement, he helped his son, Brian, with his paper route and continued that route for an additional 10 years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bobbye Fay Marble of Kosciusko; his sons, Barry James Marble (Amy Hampton Marble) and Brian Daniel Marble (Chyna Bailey Marble); three grandchildren, Bailey Daniel Marble, Kennedy Eileen Marble, William Hampton Marble; and one sister, Tanis Marble McKay; one brother, Everett Marble; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Charlotte Marble; his eldest brother, Alfred (Chip) Marble; his twin brother, Richard Marble; and his sister, Shirley Bruno.
