Voting is open in The Vicksburg Post’s Athlete of the Week contest.

This week’s nominees are Cynia Johnson (Vicksburg High basketball); soccer players Jamarian Shelly (Warren Central) and Dalton Windham (St. Aloysius); and Jaylon Winters (Warren Central football).

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline.

Cynia Johnson, a senior with Vicksburg High’s girls’ basketball team, averaged 21.7 points as the Missy Gators won all three of their games by double digits last week.

Jamarian Shelly, a senior goal keeper for Warren Central’s boys’ soccer team, had more than 20 saves in four games as the Vikings went 3-0-1 on the week. Shelly also scored a goal in a 6-0 win over Hattiesburg on Nov. 9.

Dalton Windham, a senior with St. Aloysius’ boys soccer team, had a goal and two assists, and also played one scoreless half at goal keeper, in a 7-0 win over Cathedral in the season opener on Nov. 7.

Jaylon Winters, a senior receiver with Warren Central’s football team, caught two passes for 73 yards — including a 54-yard touchdown — in a 35-0 rout of Columbus on Nov. 7.

Voting is open until midnight Tuesday, and you can vote as many times as you want until the deadline. The winner will be announced Wednesday on vicksburgpost.com and then be featured in our Friday print edition.
